STA1N 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 Hello everyone, I started off playing GTR2 & rFactor when it first came out, its been a good 4-5 years since I've played any kind sim racing game. I'm looking to find out what is best online sim racing game for the PC, im only looking to buy one game. After a quick read, I can see iRacing is quite popular and rFactor2 which is new. My main need is physics and good assortment of tracks. Any ideas and input would be helpful! thanks in advance.
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 iracing has a good number of cars and tracks, it's just that you need the money to pay your sub and the content, But if you source offers on subscriptions and other promotion offers it can work out quite well. rFactor 2 does have a good amount of tracks but these will need to be found and downloaded from mod databases, you do get some good tracks with it but for your Spa, imola and other popular tracks you will need to look around but there are some good cars available
Darin Gangi 1,074 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 You may also want to consider Assetto Corsa as a lot of modders are coming out with content for it. Base price is just under $40 too. If you want to race online with high quality servers, solid competition and a structure that you can progress, iRacing is the place for sure.
CaTaPulT 658 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 iRacing is a great multiplayer sim, I would suggest taking a 3 months for the price of 1 (there are normally promos for that deal), try it out and see how you like it with the base content, iRacing can get expensive at $14.95 for most road race tracks (some ovals are $11.95) and the extra cars being priced at $11.95 (all prices are in US dollars). You also have to have your membership (once your 3 months are up) which costs money too. iRacing has NO AI drivers, so you can't race against computer generated racers, it's online only against other humans. It does have "test" sessions which are just practicing by yourself, there are also live practice sessions where you practice against other human drivers. iRacing is well done if you don't mind the expense. As others have mentioned, there's both rFactor-2 and Assetto Corsa, both are basically in beta stages, both are quite good. rFactor-2 has two price points, the cheaper version will allow you to race online races for only one year, the more expensive option will give you a lifetime of online racing. Assetto Corsa has no restrictions for online racing. Good luck with your come back to sim racing and most importantly of all..... have fun. Take care Regards: >>>> Jack <<<<
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 Game stock car is another one to look at i would but iracing, Gamestockcar, rfactor 2 and AC are the main titles you should look into. Gamestockcar has a really good car selection offering V8's mini 4 lots of formula cars with another 2 formula cars coming the Vee and 2014 f1 and lots more. Track selection is good they are mainly Brazilian tracks as Reiza studios is a Brazilian company, but they have decided to expand and bring out tracks from around the world they have recently released Montreal and and imola coming soon along with other features. Gamestockcar is one of them titles you would need to find a private league although there are open servers but for good quality racing leagues are the way forward it might not be be what your looking for but it's an option. Hope you enjoy what ever you buy either way they are all worth it in my opinion CHEERS!
