Myself as always Christian/GTP_Christian_C

Happy to run a handicapped F40! (If not I'll be in a 599 probably) and a 1hr race suits me fine as does a pitstop.

Let's try and get more people in this week! would like to see a lobby of 10+

EDIT: I'm also thinking of offering a small monetary prize in the hopes of getting more people involved (wouldn't be much, only something like a £10 Amazon voucher) thoughts?

Bringing my car analysis over from the other thread:

Car: F50 (what a surprise!)

Total PP 'points': 39.4

Time: 1:21.091

Lap on which time was set: 4

Skill rating: Novice

Comment: As expected massively far ahead of the others and exceptionally easy to drive, I should certainly say that myself, Peter, Jason (GRD) and Aggerdo should not be allowed to use this car!

Car: F40

Total PP 'points': 39.4

Time: 1:22.088

Lap on which time was set: 5

Skill rating: Novice

Comment: I would really like to race this car but it is indeed ahead of the others (by around 4 tenths if you exclude the 288) so I think I will experiment with a PI handicap to bring it inline with the 599 and 360 CS. Otherwise, very nice car, nice interior, nice handling, little bit lacking in the top end but shouldn't matter on Long Beach.

Car: 288 GTO

Total PP 'points': 38.7

Time: 1:22.232

Lap on which time was set: 3

Skill rating: Schumacher

Comment: Absolute hell to drive! Can only be described as fighting the car around the whole lap, in stock trim you can't even take the kink flat out! That being said, the laptime surprised me as I really expected this to be up in the 23's, I assume the power to weight ratio makes up for it as it is very fast along the straights, I wouldn't recommend it but if you can tame it then it's a pretty fast car.

Car: 599 GTO

Total PP 'points': 38.7

Time: 1:22.416

Lap on which time was set: 5

Skill rating: Intermediate

Comment: Pretty good this one, my second choice at this moment in time. It lacks the traction advantage of the others but does have good handling and reasonable speed, for those of the FR persuasion this is the car to have.

Car: 360 CS

Total PP 'points': 38.7

Time: 1:22.461

Lap on which time was set: 7

Skill rating: Intermediate

Comment: Horrible neon interior and a bit tricky to drive. I think this could be good with some tuning but the interior really puts me off it surely can't be that bright in real life.

Car: F12

Total PP 'points': 38.6

Time: 1:22.948

Lap on which time was set: 4

Skill rating: Novice

Comment: The exterior is awful but the interior is quite nice, it's also a good drive in honesty it's just a shame it's a bit slow.

Cars I still need to try: Enzo, 458, 355, 512TR, 430 Scud. (I'm hoping that the 458 and 430 fall around the 360 CS in terms of laptime. I'm a bit unsure about the Enzo and where that will fall but I don't have enough money to try it)

Cars I'm ruling out based on past experience/starting pp: California, 575, FF, 365, Dino 246, 250 TR, 250 Cali', 250 GTO.

Running the F40 at 775PP (Basically little bit less power and no super wide tyres) brought the time up to a 1:22.452, I'm happy to run at this restricted level if I'm allowed to use the car!

I don't know on the F40.. You'll have to leave it at 800 for now and see what kinds of times you're getting

RE monetary prize.. I don't think we need that to be honest mate, I'm not ruling it out, but I think there's a very good reason our numbers are low.. The main reason we struggle to get people is because we race at a prime-time for leagues. I'm hoping by running at 11pm we'll be able to lure a few over. I think I have perhaps another 4 drivers who would be able to race at this time.. But we could lose some Europeans as the time is a little anti-social for those who have wife/kids

We'll see how this week goes, and if its still looking bleak we'll certainly look at that. Its actually a good idea.. I'd like to try other ways  first though :) It would be nice to run at a time where we can get Darin on board as I'm sure loads of his fans would like to race with him (like I would too). I know he tried this track with another league, and was involved in a fairly big accident at the start which may have put him off trying others.

Ferrari race on this track is a good combination.. 10 or more would be awesome

Jason / GRD 4 3L

Could not make it yesterday but so far OK for next Sat.  Most likely in F355.

Nice one dude!! No worries that you couldn't make it. Hopefully nothing comes up on Saturday

I basically tuned a 1984 GTO yesterday and am happy with it. Won't have much time this week to do a tune, so glad I've got it out of the way :)

11pm GMT is not feasible for me as 6pm in NA/Eastern time is typically our dinner time . . .

Well, we can wait half hour if that'll help? I don't mind.. I actually wanted to have it an hour later, but wanted to not drive too many away

It's not just the time to eat, it's the whole preparation + cooking + eating + clean-up and having time to relax.  I'm going to have to pull out if the race is between 10pm~1am GMT.

In hopefully

Testing a few cars out.

458 - 1:21.9xx. - fun car if a bit lairy

GTO - 1.20.8xx - bloody quick

Enzo - 1:21.9xx - easy car to drive, sloppy laps so will go quicker

Still early testing, running in cockpit and no TCS but still with braking line on to get used to cars and track before turning it off.

I got to about 1:21 in the GTO.. Its a handful though.. I stuck a V12 in mine :) I fucked my setup and am back to a few seconds off that now :(

Too late for me guys.......have a wife and kids to think about!!, although I'm sure I won't be too much of a loss!! I sucked on a major level last week!!!!

Yeah I knew that might happen to a few. Wanted to get Muff in for a race in all honesty, and he's already woke up at a stupid time in the morning to race with us. Things should be at a reasonable time next week

That's absolutely fine Pal....I generally can't do every weekend anyhow.....depending on family plans....work, and sometimes if I can be arsed!!!!

In all honesty......I need to try and get a lot more practice in before I can be anywhere near competitive!! I don't mind not winning....but being lapped is quite hard to swallow!! My issue is purely time.....I'm self employed and have a wife & 3 young kids......so during the week I'm lucky to get on maybe twice!! So (and I'm not complaining about this) when the car class is changed week upon week I just don't get the time to put the practice in!!!

So I think it's a good idea to change the times that you race.....accommodating as many as possible is a good thing!! 11pm & midnight races aren't always a no no for me....just depends what I have on that particular weekend!

See you soon on the grid

Yeah I'm just mixing it up. I'm certain we'll be back to normalish times next week. Watch this space :)

I completely understand your predicament. I do not have kids, nor am I self-employed and I can barely dredge up the energy to want to race throughout the week. I wouldn't worry about your pace too much.. Maybe we'll be able to more series type races eventually using the same car for a little while.. But for now, just trying to keep it exciting, and trying to get as many people in as possible

Hope to see you in the race next week

Defentaly gonna try this. These cars aren't exactly my cup of tea but I'll do my best also I haven't driven this track yet so hopefully I can figure it out and get a good tuneing. I don't wanna look like a fool my first time out. I hope I'm competitive with you guys I like closes races. If I push even on racer to drive to his mental limits i will be happy And I hope someone is tailing me doing the exact same to me. I'm excited about this.

Well so long as you enjoy your time on track, that's all I care about!

Some of the guys are extremely quick in all fairness, so don't be disheartened if you're not flying around. If you've never been on this track, doing 46 laps with pretty much all assists off is quite a challenge imo.. I do these long races all the time and even I can't concentrate for more than ten minutes, lol

Thanks for signing up!! Look forward to seeing you on track tomorrow. You'll get an invite about 15 minutes before race time. Looks like there will only be 6 of us, maybe one more
