Lads I'm just about breaking into the 1:27s in a Ferrari.. Don't think any advice from me on this track is of any relevance

I could perhaps give you my details to show you what not to do? lol

I've never spent any real time on this track, so hopefully its just a case of pumping in some laps

Peter (et all)....a newbie here wanting to get into the action, if it's OK with you.  Please let me know since I'll have to pull together the selection, build & tune....and, worse yet, practice...

Thx!

Hey buddy.. Sure thing if you'd like to join us

Set-ups are complicated.. I'd suggest going to "load setup" and finding one that someone else has made being as the race is tomorrow. There are usually a bunch to choose from

Thanks!  I already got the car and doing some tuning now....learning experience for me.  BTW, you folks ae really fast for a newbie, so, I'll get out of the way and hopefully I can get some consistent laps under the 2min mark.  I see 1:20's, yikes!

I also have my son's graduation tomorrow (Saturday morning, PST) yet hoping to make it on time.  If not, please sign me up for future events.  Thank you!

Well we can wait a little while for you bud if you're not about. We usually run the race an hour later, so I'm sire the others wont mind

And no problem with your worries about pace. Its not important at the moment.. Just looking to find a grid of people who enjoying running no assists/cockpit view.. Pace isn't important.. You'll only get quicker over time, and being forced to do 28 laps is a great way to achieve that

Hope to see you tomorrow

Right after some testing I've decided I'm going to swap my GT-R out for the Ruf CTR2, wanted something a bit different and I doubt I'll be seeing another RR car tomorrow! Possibly the worst car ever in the S bends! little bit quicker than the GT-R over a lap, I've managed to get to a 1:25 now.

Will post my GT-R setup if anyone wants to give it a go shortly  :)

So here are a few setups and recommendations I've made: (Apologies if they don't suit your driving style/you don't like them!)

Bump:7.2/6.8

Aero: 130/150

Brakes: 48% 110%

Diff: 60/60

Remember, the car is heavy, it will not turn as well as others, I have no real idea where this car gets pace from at all given that it just feels like you’re driving a bus! (1:26.2XX)

TVR Sagaris: Stats: 6.5/6.0/8.9/8.7/6.5 438hp / 377lb-ft / 2,088lbs 52:48 WD

Toe: 0.0/-0.2

Caster: 5.0

ARB’s: 26.92/20.06

Springs: 470.4/519.9

RH: 3.4/3.4

Damping:

Rebound: 9.4/9.1

Bump:7.1/6.9

Aero: 95/157

Brakes: 49% 100%

Diff: 60/60

This is not fully tuned, I pretty much built the car, tweaked it a bit and then dropped it after realising it’s just too fast to be fair, you’re welcome to try it but I’ll be honest and say this car is in another class compared to the others (it can run 24’s!!!!!) I’ll be a bit gutted to see one racing as I think there’s no hope of catching it. (1:24.3XX)

Ruf CTR2: Stats: 7.1/5.9/8.6/8.0/6.4 439hp / 365lb-ft / 2,424lbs 41:59 WD

Upgrades:

3.0L F6 engine swap (It’s actually a 3.8 not a 3.0 at all!)

Race intake

Sport intake manifold

Race exhaust

Race displacement

Sport pistons

All race platform and handling mods

Race clutch

Race gearbox

Race diff

Race tyres

Max tyre width front and rear

FKSE Profil 5 Wheels (standard size) BBS RS-GT is a nice wheel too

Front and rear aero

Tune:

Tyres: 28.0/28.0

Gearing: All stock, final drive: 4.00

Alignment:

Camber: -1.0/-1.1

Toe: 0.0/0.0

Caster: 5.0

ARB’s: 25.00/19.00

Springs: 498.4/598.3

RH: 5.6/5.6

Damping:

Rebound: 10.0/11.0

Bump:6.5/8.0

Aero: 71/125

Brakes: 47% 100%

Diff: 55/55

My car of choice, it’s a bit different both in looks, drive type and driving experience, hitting your turn in points is essential! don’t get greedy in the S bends or you’ll be in the wall. Capable car just treat it gently (1:25.6XX)

Other good shouts are:

Lexus LFA (haven’t driven but the build and stats look solid)

Aston Martin V12 Zagato (the sound! runs slightly faster than the GT-R (1:26.0XX)

Aston Martin Vanquish (starts low down, not built but can imagine it’s a good pick)

Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (not built, good handling, will monster the S bends at a guess)

Ferrari Challenge Stradale (same as Vanquish, might struggle with the MR in the S bends)

Right after some testing I've decided I'm going to swap my GT-R out for the Ruf CTR2, wanted something a bit different and I doubt I'll be seeing another RR car tomorrow!

And i thought I'd be the only one in one :)

Got the RT12-S tuned up and ready to go.

Got a couple of alternatives, Lexus and Corvette, both do similar times.

Gonna check out the Ford GT aswell.

Ok guys.....so I've been away working almost all week....back home today so had no time to practice or even buy a car!!

So...I'll be on the grid and ready to.go.....but don't expect too much!

Can anybody recommend a decent all round car to buy to give me at least half a chance!!

I reckon a Viper is a good shout and if anyone turns up in a Ruf Yellowbird they get some serious respect points! The Zagato is a good car too if you have the DLC, those would be my recommendations anyway.

Shame we wont be racing with you today Jason!

Cheers fellas.....will be shortly retiring to my man cave and hopefully get a few laps in before the actual race.....one more question....how do we communicate?? I'm guessing nobody has managed to sort out the actual xb1 second controller issue yet??? So is it just via kinect??

Second controller issue? we just normally use the mics and party chat to avoid the megatron voice.

Erm.........where do you plug the mic?? The TX doesn't have a port for it does it?? Or are some using game pads as opposed to the TX wheel?
