JLuehman 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Hi, I have an XBox 360 and Formula 1 2013 with a XBox wireless steering wheel controller. I have a blast with this, but after a recent holiday, i want to try out PC sims too. While on holiday, i visited the Race Centre in Darling Harbour (http://www.racecentre.com). I played their F1 sim and found it to be much better than the XBox game i currently play. They use rFactor for their sim, so i installed this when i got home to try it out. Does anyone know what F1 mod they run? And what V8 Supercar one too? Thanks!
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Hi, welcome to ISR! Have you tried contacting them to find out what mod it is?. it might be there own mod which is unavaliable for public use owtside of there simulator. Judt want to point out as well is F1 mods are illegal the modern ones anyway so ypu wpnt find any links to them at ISR. Check out Nogripracing.com and virtualr.net where you will find some v8 mods and older F1 mods back to the Senna days CHEERS!
JLuehman 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Thanks for the help. I emailed them this morning but no reply yet. I doubt they will tell me though. Funny that you say the modern F1 mods are illegal, as the one i played was a 2013 one. I will try the V8 ones you mentioned. I'm looking at getting a G25 wheel second-hand to start with. Am i correct in saying rFactor is not very graphically intensive? I ran a test at 1920x1080 with my crappy onboard graphics (Intel i3) and it ran fine - with no AI cars though. Any ideas for a video card to run rFactor perfectly at 60fps? Will probably try rFactor2 and iRacing at some stage too.
Paradox 92 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Any ideas for a video card to run rFactor perfectly at 60fps? Will probably try rFactor2 and iRacing at some stage too. I've been using a Gigabyte HD 6850 1GB card for rFactor, rFactor2 and iRacing. All running at full detail at 1920x1080 and I get decent frame rates. I only have a single screen, so it works fine. It can be had on the cheap, so it will at least get you started.

Never_Too_Fast 3 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 First of all, welcome to the ISRTV family .... If you want a suggestion on what wheel to use, I would recommend the G27 by Logitech if you take sim racing very seriously or a fanatec wheel.
JLuehman 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2014 Was looking around eBay for a second-hand G27 but they were still too expensive. Just ordered a brand new one for not much more than the second-hand ones were going for. Should be here next week, so i can finally properly race. Will then have to find a wheel stand and video card. JLuehman 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2014 Well my G27 arrived. Took a bit of configuration to get it to work, and even now I'm not sure it is 100% right. Have set it to 180 degrees in Logitech Profiler and rFactor and it works well. Bought an Asus GTX660 OC and am happy with it so far.
CaTaPulT 658 Report post Posted May 6, 2014 If you find any car you are driving way too twitchy, try setting you degrees of rotation higher, 180 is kind of low. Take care Regards: >>>> Jack <<<<
JLuehman 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2014 I initially had it set to 900 degrees in both, but the cars steering was then very slow and i would have to actually do a full rotation or more of the wheel to get around corners.

Agreed, 900 is high, there are some sims that will adjust the degrees of rotation depending on the car you use but the initial setting has to be 900 degrees I believe. iRacing is one of those and I think Assetto Corsa also does this. Maybe try around the 300 to 320 degree mark in rFactor 1 and see how you like it. Good luck and enjoy. Take care Regards: >>>> Jack <<<<
JLuehman 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2014 rfernandes: I have never seen a driver rotate the wheel 360+ degrees to get around turn 1 at Albert Park. catapult: I did try a few settings, and 180 actually feels perfect, so I will leave it there for now.
