Forza 5 race Saturday 3rd May 9:00pm (21:00) GMT

Assists, banned.. Other than steering and manual clutch. Cockpit view will be locked

 

 

Race - Spa - 20 laps - GT2 cars

 

 

As far as I know there are five of those GT2 cars to choose from..

 

#007 Aston DBR9

#92 BMW Letterman

#4 Corvette ZR1

#62 Ferrari Risi Competizione F458

#91 SRT Viper

 

 

The Aston Martin is rated 900PI, so that will be a maximum for all vehicles..

Cars must stay RW drive as that will also be locked in the lobby

 

 

We'll work out qualifying on the night, but it will probably be 2-3 warm-up laps

 

 

After the race finishes; we could do perhaps another race, a shorter one.. We'll see how it goes and do it on the fly

I really would Love too...

...but i think my girlfriend would not like it...

Anyway 75Mit down, 8Mbit, Central Europe, Austria if i can manage to be home :wink:

 

 

Haha.. Well this 20 lap race would be roughly 45 mins, so about an hour in total with a few warm-up laps. I think you're 1 hour ahead of me, so 10pm your time.

Count me in.  I should be good for this Sat night.  I don't think I've driven a GT2 yet in FM5 but some practice in cockpit view should get me ready.  20 laps sounds great.  Was getting tired of 5 lap races . . . 

 

Added "PullThePlug666" to FL.

 

24Mbps/2Mbps; it's not a lot but this is the best I can get around here and had/has no problems playing online or hosting lobbies.

Brilliant.. We'll wait and see how large the lobby gets and where the majority of people are to work out who the host should be.. 

 

These cars are a lot of fun. Give me a shout if you fancy pumping in some laps some time.. Spa is very long, and there's a number of corners I've not yet got close to working out yet in these cars

Cockpit view locked???? Really???? Ah maaaaaan......never could get used to cockpit view!!! I've always been a front bumper cam driver!!!! But if them's the rules!! Then I guess I'm gonna have to practice a bit......a lot!!!!

Well, I'd prefer cockpit. I don't mind bumper, but a lot use GTA/chase camera and I want to ensure I have none of them sharing the same bit of road as me if possible.. See how you get on, we might be able to bend the rules on Saturday

 

Imo, Spa is a great track for this car type. Cockpit view is epic, however, you don't have my peripheral compared to some of the other cars. But to me, cockpit camera is irrelevant if you do enough laps as the race-track never changes

Yeah I completely agree with regards to the chase view......I just feel far more accurate when I've got a clear view.....but I'm gonna give it a go in a little while when I get chance to.......GT2 you say.......I'll go buy one now and start practicing!! gamer tag is BigJayA.....bet you'd never of guessed that one eh? ;)

I Hope i can manage it...i came back to Forza after 2 months of iracing because of the CPX letting me use my CSP V2 on my xbox aswell...and it was Kind of "disillusioning" driving against aggressive drivatars...

There are five total

 

 

#007 Aston DBR9

#92 BMW Letterman

#4 Corvette ZR1

#62 Ferrari Risi Competizione F458

#91 SRT Viper

 

 

The Aston is rated 900 as standard.. The rest are around 800, but you can tune them up to 900.

And RE cockpit view.. I don't seem to find any problem from car to car in cockpit view. Perhaps some enjoy a few cars, like the open wheelers, as its similar to bumper cam.. 

 

When I started driving cockpit only it took a bit of time to get used to.. Its very difficult imo.. But way more enjoyable now.. Hang in there with it as its just a matter of practice

The Aston Martin is in its own class (only GT2, as BigJayA has commented?) and I doubt the other 4 cars can be brought up to the same level as the Aston Martin (just a hunch, probably involves removing the air restrictor).

 

Perhaps just using the other 4 cars, as is, would be better?  At this level, +/- few PI points are not going to make a huge difference.

 

But I do like the look and sound of the Ferrari.

They tune up no problem.. Currently testing the Aston vs Viper vs Ferrari all at 900.. They feel very similar..

Yeah these cars probably have the least visibility tbf :/ You'll get to grips with it 

 

I'm not sure to be honest on the renting thing. I'll check shortly. If you can, and can load a setup you like then I have no problem with anyone doing that

Haha.. Looked dodgy the first time I found that.. Needless to day, any boost financially on this game is welcome.. Check again on the first day of May and you'll have more :)

 

 

 

I've met about another dozen decent racers on here and other forums who I've sent messages to, so hopefully some will fancy this.. Also emailed Darin to see if he fancies it; although from a previous conversation with him, I think Saturdays are a difficult day for him to game on
