G27 Wheel Rotation no longer recognized

I was playing Assetto Corsa, then my wheel just lost ffb. so i exited the game, fully  unplugged the wheel. Then I restarted my computer,
plugged the wheel in, and now there is no wheel calibration, in Logitech Gaming Profile I tested out the controls, the buttons on the wheel,
shifter and the paddles are recognized, everything works except for steering. I tried to re-install my drivers, tried multiple usb ports,
multiple power sockets. By the way, Ac adapter is functional and reads 23.5V. And one more thing, I noticed that before this problem occured,
i could easily rotate steering wheel when it was fully unplugged, and now it has the additional weight in the same state.

Would be great if someone could help.

Thanks.

If your wheel  dont have warranty ... open it ...I think optical sensor wheel is broken or just moved from his place....it maybe touches the sensor PCB - thats why you feel extra weight on unplugged wheel turn. Just open the wheel and check.

Yep, I'm out of warranty... Just checked optical sensor, it's not broken. The main PCB looks ok as well. Noticed the following, when i disconnect both motors from PCB the wheel looses extra weight аnd once i connect at least one of the motors back the weight comes back. I'm not a specialist in electronics, but i think something's wrong with the main PCB. Moreover  when i plug the wheel to a wall socket the main PCB starts heating immediatily in some areas, i'm not sure if it's normal.
Some thoughts may be?

That generally means the wheel has no power. I can simulate your exact condition with the wheel unplugged. All button work but no rotation. Check the power adapter carefully and if you have a DvOM check to see if you have any power coming out of it.

I checked the power adapter with DvOM and it shows 23.5V...

that sounds about right. Maybe the connection inside the wheel is bad - I dont know - will take some troubleshooting inside the wheel now. I do know that my wheel acts likes yours when I accidentally dislodge power cable

What about resistors heating immediatily? Is it normal?

resistors will heat up - you are going to need to trace some circuits inside the wheel and/or give the pc and good visual inspection

That's i'm trying to do now, but i don't know much about electronic circuits...

Long time reader, first time poster here.

I'm having the same problem. I recently replaced the optical encoder and everything was fine. The wheel I have was a hand-me-down that had been modded and didn't have the board for the LCD lights and wheel buttons. So I bought a wheel neck with the cord off of ebay. All the lights work, the profiler shows the buttons work, but like the first user post above, the wheel won't calibrate and goes full lock left.

I believe it is probably because of not having the wheel shaft gear properly aligned with the slider bar. I've read in places that the bar should be full right, other places centered, etc. etc. so there seems to be no real info on what could be causing this problem. I had one person suggest that the main board could have been fried but I highly doubt that to be the case.

I've had the wheel apart umpteen times, have counted gears on both the wheel shaft gear and the slider bar. Marked them and aligned to what I believed was perfectly centered. Plug the wheel in turn everything on and it just keeps going full left lock with gear shift light flashing then going dim green glow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!
