Craig Hardy 3 Report post Posted April 24, 2014 Hi Guys, I've been watching ISR videos for about 2 months now, must have watched nearly all of them!!! They have got me hooked on the idea of a sim racing, so I took the jump. Yesterday I built the death mobile and today I've ordered a gaming PC and the T500. I plan to expand the setup to include the Obutto Revolution, triple screens and simvibe, throughout the year. I intend to race on iRacing both road and oval, so hope to see you all on the track. snowman529 5 Report post Posted April 25, 2014 Welcome Craig!! If you enjoy racing at all, this is a leap you won't regret. Give it some time to get the hang of things. The best advice I could give is watch the iRacing Surviving Rookie videos if you haven't already. They seem basic, but they give you a good base and philosophy to start out with. Most importantly, have some fun!! This is a great community, so if you have any questions, everyone is more than happy to help.

J.A.R.V.I.S. 282 Report post Posted April 25, 2014 Welcome to Inside Sim Racing Craig! Great to see you here Great setup you got there! I'm sure you will be happy with iRacing even though it is a little bit of a big jump. But I'll tell you something. I did the same thing. It just takes a little bit of time to get used to. Just remember to practice to be a clean racer to be "the driver" and not "that driver". >Cheers!< J.A.R.V.I.S.

Craig Hardy 3 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 thanks for your kind messages guys. Wow...wow...wow!!! I have just completed my 1st oval race, I have honestly never been so nervous. Qualified 3rd in the 2nd split Things got a little crazy on the 1st corner, but I just slowed down and got around the carnage, albeit while losing a few places (10!!!). Still I managed to finish in 10th place, as the highest rookie placing within the split. That's it now though, I have the bug! My life is now iRacing hahaha. Davidr1979 66 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Just don't rush in iRacing, take it slow, I made the mistake of thinking i could master the sim quickly only to severely damage my iRating, which i still regret till this day. That's my advice.
