spauley559 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2014 Hello : very new to the sim world and putting together my first rig and wanting to do a triple screen . I've been playing on a single 32 inch Westinghouse led and the picture seems very nice , there lies my question are Tv's OK to use for trips or are monitor's better ? I did notice the Westinghouse I'd only 50/60 hz and notice a lot of senior members saying they prefer 120 . Thank you for taking the time to read my question . Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted March 17, 2014 The ASUS are a popular monitor here, not sure on size i know a few use 24" which i think is a good size triples. Personally i would go for 3 triple monitors at 24inches ive never been a fan of using tv's due to finding the best one that does't leave a smear. CHEERS! Darin Gangi 1,074 Report post Posted March 17, 2014 PC monitors in general have a lower latency and also can run in 120 hz. I personally run 3 22" monitors that are all 120 hz.

sebj 616 Report post Posted March 18, 2014 Since you've already been using TVs before, if you like it and dont see any issues with it, then stick with them. Its much cheaper than monitors and you can go larger like 32inch or bigger. The size only really matters based on how far your eyes are from the screen. My iRacing FOV thread has a calculator you can use to determine what size of monitor to use to get a realistic size on screen based on your sitting position. Generally, if you sit within 24 inches of the screens up to 30inch is fine. If you sit 36inches or further i'd go with 32inch TVs or even 40inch.
beamer128 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2014 Darin could you please give us the model number of your monitors so that I may include them in my research? To the member who started this thread, I saw a monitor from Samsung on Newegg's site, and it had a 2ms rating. Please use this link to view it if you wish http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001810
