G33MAN 2 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Hi there I just bought myself a nice new high powered pc and was wondering which pc racing game is the best racing sim out there ? Been a massive fan of sim racing for years and am looking to getting back into pc racing also I'm looking at the possibility of a game like some of the free to play where I can buy content or full game. Would prefer to own a disk but a download game is fine. Thanks in advance.
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Welcome to ISR! There is no best sim out there, but you will find parts of a title better then others. I would recommend Game Stock Car 2013, you can't get this from a shop but i think you can order a disk version of it from Reiza them selves. they also have a digi version of course. Another title to look at getting is Assetto Corsa most likely the most popular sim so far without Multiplayer, but this will be coming soon. CHEERS!
J.A.R.V.I.S. 282 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want to do multiplayer, iRacing. Offline stuff, Assetto Corsa and GSC 2013. Can you give us a hindsight of what you are looking for? >Cheers!< J.A.R.V.I.S.
G33MAN 2 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Hi there and thanks for the info I looking for a good career to play if possible not to bothered about multiplayer but would be nice to have the option to play when I fancy it. Cheers all
PaulG 79 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Honestly, none of the PC exclusives really have a career mode. I guess Assetto Corsa is the most gamey in the sense it has numerous events/game types you can run, but it's still nothing like GT or Forza. These are basically simulations and they don't want to alienate their user base by locking content behind gaming conventions like grinding and unlocks. These games are all about the driving. If you want involved career modes, you really need to go with the console port titles. Of course, then you're dealing with physics that are significantly inferior to the PC exclusives. TruePunisher 78 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 You wouldn't be using cars like Forza, F1 2013 has a career mode.
G33MAN 2 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Yeah I have the gran turismos and all the forza games but they just not cutting it for me so the jump to pc seems right I used to love gtr2 and stuff like that but Asseto Corsa is sounding good as well as race room. SteveS 1,391 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 F1 series by codemaster is great fun... Assetto Corsa is showing great progress on a bi-weekly bases. Steam has 33% off this week, $19.99 is a great price for a sim that many people believe will be outstanding. http://store.steampowered.com/app/244210/ Personally I love iRacing and feel it's worth the subscription fee IF you don't get tempted to buy too many tracks & cars. Also if you renew once a year when they have 50% off on black Friday special. Porsche RUF is a really great sim car to drive...

I think I racing is the one with sixty odd tracks but they are quite expensive also can you do single player stuff or is it always online ? Sorry to be a pain. Sorry to be a pain. iRacing is online racing only, you have practice sessions off line and time trials but no single player with AI. If your looking into racing more AI then online, rFactor is the way, although you can join various leagues in rfactor by searching around also lots of mods cars, tracks etc so ylots of content to keep you interested. iRacing can get expensive unless you plan it out and make use of the discounts and other promo codes. No worries i would recommend GSC13 for AI racing as i mentioned in my earlier post they offer some good competition and in my opinion the best AI in any title so far. And some of the mods used on GSC13 are from rfactor as it's the same engine used. CHEERS!
