SilverArrows 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 Hello , recently moved over from console to PC and I haven't a clue on what to start with. I already have Richard Burns Rally and I'm enjoying it but I want something for the track racing side of things. I'm on a bit of a budget so I've ruled iRacing out for now. I like Open Wheelers so Race 07 isn't really my thing either. I've mainly been looking at rFactor 1 and 2 and GSC 2013. I would like to play against others even in a league but I really don't have a clue on what to go for as I'd like to start off with one. Help would be appreciated.Thanks. Bloodycut 11 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 You already answered to your question. Try also GTR 2 and Kart Racing Pro. I think you find great driving of those.
William Marsh 118 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 I spent half an hour writing an extremely detailed post, then did something stupid and lost it >.< so now, I'll give general summing up I'll sum it up like this: Game Stock Car 2013: GREAT selection of open wheel cars, believe it or not. Even though they aren't officially licensed, they have a modern day Red Bull F1 car, late 80s McLaren, and 1976 Copersucar to race. Limited tracks out of box, but modding community can bring some more tracks to title. rFactor: TON of content, but you have to sift through garbage to find the truly great stuff... Look for MMG, CTDP, FSONE, carrera.4, and GP79 mods. Can find most stuff on www.rFactorCentral.com. Tracks can be hit or miss. *NOTE* Be cautious with conversions. While some are professionally done conversions with permission, a lot of them nowadays use stolen assets from other titles, such as Codemasters F1 titles, Forza, GRID, etc. Most of those times, conversions are hastily done, and aren't at a high quality, so try to avoid those! Any more questions or want more recommendations, feel free to send me a message
ronzer 25 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 For the price you can't go wrong with GSC 2013, I have around 70 tracks and just as many cars? And good AI. And you don't need the best computer to run it.

It's Montreal (mid 90s) and the 1995 Ferrari F1 - although it's like the Mclaren Honda and not "official". So it's technically a generic car, even though it's not:)
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 Rfactor 1 and GSC13 are great titles to start with, then move to iracing later on if you fancy it. I play a lot of GSC13 you can't go wrong. If you do have trouble installing let me know it can get tricky CHEERS!
SilverArrows 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 Thanks for the replies guys. I don't have time today but tomorrow I''ll try to download GSC 2013 and rFactor tomorrow. They seem to be good to start with and hopefully I can move on to iRacing later.

Another thing worth mentioning is that GSC and rFactor feature 60 minute demos, where you can try it out, see how you like it!
SilverArrows 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 Assetto Corsa? Doesn't the early access of AC not get you the final game ? If so I think I'll wait till the final game is released.
APEKS 159 Report post Posted February 21, 2014 I thought it did. I hope it does because I dont expect to pay now and again for v1 of the game!

If you buy early access you have the game for life. Expect the price to go up a little once it's out of early access so get it when you can CHEERS!
William Marsh 118 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 The draw of getting early access on Assetto Corsa is that you get it 20% off, for $39.99 as opposed to $49.99, as well as owning it for life.
PaulG 79 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 I was the one who wrote the ISR article on it Yeah. I noticed that a bit after I posted it. Oops. In my defense, I became aware of it from my Youtube subscriptions.
