DeadEye 31 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 Hey guys, I finally got my pc hooked up (still have a snag with the internet) So I loaded in two games GT Evolution and NASCAR 2004 and tried a couple of races. I practiced for 10 minutes with each game getting used to the G27 I bought. Where's the brakes? I put 65% front in and still it isn't very good. In real world racing or sim racing not having brakes is terrorizing. The worst next to fire which we don't have to worry about in the sim world. Anyway I set the AI's to 100% to see if I could even stay with them. GT Evolution Monza Reverse (I like that configuration) So I dropped back to last and finished 7th. (15 cars) Not bad since i went to the back. A very pleasant surprise when the software screen popped up saying my settings were too low! Wow! That never happened before. It sure makes it easier for me to see. Conclusion: I am way better on left hand turns then right…I lose sight of the corner. So I will have to work on that. The G27 doesn't steer as quickly as I would like either. Until I can get online I am stuck with whatever it is set at. NASCAR 2004 - Yes I will be getting NASCAR the Game 2014 in a couple of weeks to upgrade. I picked Dover (1 mile track) and started last out of 42 cars. I finished 1st in 50 laps. So ovals are no problem except for Daytona and Talladega. The mess up my eyes something fierce. Conclusion: Ovals will be just find for me in iRacing. Road courses I will have to play by ear as I go on. Internet - plugged in the cable to the modem as I have two computers in the same room and my wives laptop wireless upstairs and no internet for the pc. The Mac is fine but the cable isn't long enough from it to reach the pc. So I am stumped. I tried turning off both computers, unplugging the modem for 30 seconds and turning everything back on and that didn't work…So I am stuck... I just wanted to let you know what I have done so far with the new pc,. Deadeye
PaulG 79 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 I'm a bit confused about the internet part. Maybe you need to keep it unplugged for 60 seconds to reset the MAC address it's married to? But if you have two computers and a wireless computer, don't you have all this hooked up to a router? You should just be able to plug it into the back of that. And if you don't have a router, it'd sure be a lot easier for you if you did. Basic ones are cheap too.

DeadEye 31 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 I did notice something this second go around that I didn't the 1st. If I even glance to the lower right where the relative F3 will be I lose sight of where I am. So I was wondering is it possible to put it in the upper right hand corner or upper left hand corner? I have seen a few vids with what they are calling overlays. Deadeye
Darin Gangi 1,074 Report post Posted February 9, 2014 Have you made any adjustments to you Logitech profiler in Windows ? You should take off the Damper and Center Spring.. Also, for most newer titles, you should change the degrees of rotation to 900. There's also a check box to "let game adjust settings".. check that box. I know that in Assetto Corsa you can fully customize the position of any indicator there though. One thing you could try is using a phone or tablet app to show that information. I tested iHud for the ipad and works fine and for Android I tested a similar App, I think it's name is DashMeter. I need to make a mount to actually use it. DeadEye 31 Report post Posted February 9, 2014 Darin - I am going to have to wait until I can get online to do this right? I didn't get a disk or any paperwork period when I got my G27 from Amazon. It was new and after I read that there was a Logitech Profiler that I need but I am not sure where to get it. I went to Logitech site and didn't find it. I'll do those things as soon as I can figure out how to get the gaming pc online. I have tried to unplug everything for 30 seconds, then I tried for 60 seconds and the only thing I can figure out is that I may have a bad ethernet cable (it was new) jonixc - Looks like I'll have to get a huge magnifying glass as I don't have a tablet or android…I know I am behind the times…..But thanks for the info…. Hoolig4n 1 Report post Posted February 12, 2014 . The G27 doesn't steer as quickly as I would like either. Until I can get online I am stuck with whatever it is set at. Hi You have a 900° steering wheel and I also feel that it is not sensitive enough for most games. You can set another degree of steering using following button combinations: [1+2] + O = ~670° [1+2] + S = ~450° [1+2] + X = 900° Resets to default [1+2] + T = ~240° I got this tip on another forum and its great to find a good setup in every game. For instance GT6 I drive with option O or S, and for WRC4 and GRID2 I drive witht option T. You can do this whenever you want after the game has loaded. Well I play on PS3 so I have to wait for the game to load because the wheel calibrates on the start of every game. When you unplug the wheel the setting is lost so you have to redo it every time you want to play. Have fun.
