DCOW Rig Plans - Small footprint, space-saving convertTable style chassis

8 posts in this topic

Hey Folks,

you might already have seen my "Dark Chest of Wonders" Racing Rig here on ISR and maybe you are one of those fellow simracercs that already asked me for plans of the rig.

You find my DIY projects here:

DIY simrig: viewtopic.php?f=110&t=7289
DIY shifter: http://insidesimraci...torial/?p=48358
DIY handbrake: viewtopic.php?f=157&t=8246

Now I followed the requests and invested some days in creating the plans of the rig. So here's another contribution from me to the community.

You can find the whole set as PDF here:

Here's a render video on how the rig folds together:

Additionally, I've uploaded all pages as jpg-pictures to imageshack:

If you have questions related to the plans itself please post them here.

For questions concerning the rig and the building process, please post them in my DIY topic ( http://isrtv.com/forums/topic/5201-my-dark-chest-of-wonders-diy-simrig/ ).

Hopefully you enjoy the plans and follow my build. Leave me a comment and share your results.

Of course I'd be happy to receive some donations, if you are generous just send me an e-mail or PM...

Best Regards,

Timo Reichensperger aka DerKaffeemann

Hey lanick> Nice build, even though I can't see how it is related to my "dark chest" covertable rig... ;-)

Hello Gisxer> you're right, there's no spot inside of the DCOW for the shifter and handbrake unit. With my Fanatec CSW mounted, the rig is pretty much packed full inside. So I keep the shifter / handbrake unit separately and store it in a closet when not in use. To be honest, I haven't been using this additional unit for a while, even though it's still nice to have...
