Godzpeed 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Hello all, First off, let me introduce ourselves, Godzpeed is a private car club located in China, we are looking to build a new club house for our members and one of the feature I would like to include is to have the venue ready for simulation racing. However, I'm very new to sim racing on PC, my only experiences are on Gran Turismo only. I've been recently testing various racing sim, such as RFactor, Simbin Titles, Asseto Corsa. We have narrow it down to RFactor for the time being as we have choose Simracing's Race Center Management system as it seems to be the best solution, and for hardware wise, we currently have decided to go with Simroom's D-box setup. We are looking to have 10 Simulators at our venue at the moment. I'm having massive trouble preparing RFactor for our use. There are simply too many mods out there in very different places. In fact, our current RFactor install is unplayable due to the installation of the project D mod. I would really like to find an solution on this. I've been to 130R Yokohama owned by Max Orido, and their RFactor setup seems to be very good. The Macau track I currently have looks no where as good as theirs. So I've came here with a few questions, wonder if you experts here could help. 1) What are the best mods (physics, car packs) that I must get? My goal is to replicate RFactor to run similarly to Race07+expansion in terms of physics, track/car selection. 2) Are there any ways to improve graphics? 3) Where could I find the following tracks, which are must have for our venue. They are Macau Guia Circuit, Zhuhai International Raceway and Guangdong International Raceway. I believe Macau and Zhuhai circuit are widely available. I just have not run into the same quality version I've seen 130R ran. Guangdong internation is available, but I have not found any sources online yet. 4) Other than RFactorcenter.com are there any other good reliable sources for RFactor mods? It does not have to be free, we don't mind paying for quality mods. or are there any other suggestions that I could do to add in on my venue? I would appreciate your feedback. Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome to the forums. If you have a large amount of mods i would highly recommend creating another rfactor install as a backup just incase your install messes up with all the mods. Also if you can get an external harddrive you can keep all your tracks and even another install of rfactor on that. With graphics there is not much you can due its an old engine and its really down to community made mods. Some mods look great and some don;t it all depends on the creators ability. With Physics you can download reel feel mods and other files which do small tweeks, but then it comes down to the mods again if the mods Physics simulate that car correctly and sometimes if you download files to correct these mods all sorts of madness happens and you find yourself reinstalling things again. Godzpeed 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2014 Thanks a lot, I've been getting the hang of RFactor modding and found the sweet spot for realism and playability. Real Feel made a huge difference. Now its all about finding the right tracks and cars to be included. Still not much success in finding the Guangdong Circuit though.

UNKLE 1,429 Report post Posted January 8, 2014 I believe iRacing offer custom solutions for businesses too. You should contact them for quotes. You could also try Game Stock Car 2013 since it's essentially rF1 but much easier to get up and running and comes with lots of great content.
pben1 8 Report post Posted January 8, 2014 Hi Goodzpeed Sounds like a nice race room club your setting up, some thing I've always wanted to do have done research but no chance of finance. I would say Rfactor is the best sim for race centers along with the sim mananger software, would be good to run it with friends at the start then go full business mode hire out for events ect. I've not used Rfactor myself only (Simbin & Rezia ) so when looking for mods I checked out YouTube hope this helps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XE772onWnU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUvHjXKaVAQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtKlDLlu3UY
