The way the "Sim Racing Australia - Search for a Champion" program works is thus,

Every SRA driver will earn individual points across all of the championships we run on both our Wednesday nights and on Saturday nights championships. These series are seen clearly on our forums as our;

  • "Wednesday Night Minors" - Various miniature championships run on Wednesday nights, Consisting of 8ea. 6 week miniature seasons.
    • *Mini Challenge,
      *World Touring Masters
      *Nascar
      *Formula 3
      *V8 Stockcars
      *F1 Classics (Circa 1994 era)
*Blancpain GT3 Endurance series (Runs 8 weeks to inc. a Spa 24hr and Nordschliefe 24hr (2hr) endurance event) and lastly,
      *Formula 1 2013
  • "Saturday Night Majors" - Our V8 Supercar championship running on Saturday nights in conjunction with with the real world V8SC season from March to December.

So, For every race a individual driver competes in through out the year from the above list, his points haul will be added to his "Search for a Champion" points haul.

At the end of the 2014 season proper we will tally up everyone's points and crown an overall "Drivers Champion", a Runner's up and a Third place getter. The prizes for the top 3 finishers will be awarded and delivered post haste after the points have been tallied up.

And then???...

Well we intend to make this program a yearly perpetual program, meaning we we kick it all off again for 2015, 2016, 2017 and so on and so forth, building the prestige of this initiative.

We presume, Drivers will return to defend their titles, and other Drivers returning to topple the defending champion as they have another crack at glory and redemption for last years failed attempt.

So guys head over to Sim Racing Australia Join up and check out our forums for more details.

.

That's really great. Unfortunately I can't attend regularly because of work, but I hope there's a chance to do the odd race now and again.

Really wanna get into it as soon as I have more time. I just recommended to a mate giving GSC2013 a go. He's on iracing and was thinking it is the best sim currently on the market. Well, it took him 2 or 3 days and I got a message yesterday saying GSC2013 is better...and all that for 25 bucks - we can't believe it :)

Thanks fort the reply Thirsty!

Even if you can't attend all races, it doesn't matter mate, your still welcome to come and race.

I myself run the league and work a roster that means I'm almost at work more than at home...

For me it's about the fun and the challenge of racing.

Hey Phill, so do I have to register for a championship at the start of the season or is it possible to join a race individually?

What game are you doing Saturday's V8 Supercars championship on?

Thanks mate:)
