Hesitant 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 Hi All, Came by this site after searching for good forums to join for advice etc on racing games. I've recently in the last 6 months or so go back into PC gaming in a big way. So much so I sold my Xbox as it's never being used. My first choice of gaming genre would be racing. I've just upgraded my graphics card to a GTX 770 in the hope it will handle some new games with decent detail. I've been keeping an eye on Project Cars as it does look interesting but whether it plays well I've yet to try. Just purchased a G27 direct from Logitech with a great discount I got (good timing). Should hopefully arrive beginning of next week. Currently I have Race 07 with various add-ons installed and have been playing it with my wire Xbox controller. It's ok but I was realism. I downloadd rFactor 2 but for some reason I couldn't get it running (Windows 8.1). I've looked at iRacing which I am interested in. My senario is: I would like to play a good racing sim online but not on specific days/dates. Just when I've got the time (away from the wife). Nothing that's going to destroy my bank balance within the first month. And finally have good fun/laugh while racing. I don't want to take it too seriously. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciate. Sorry for the long post

Not sure about Windows 8, but it works great on 7. You can race on or offline. Online may be tough to find good races without a league. Also, if you're going to go iRacing, start with the free deal from Cadillac.. https://cadillaccupracing.com/registration. You get three months to check things out and don;t have to spend a dime. iRacing you can find a good race (above the rookie class) pretty much every hour due to their competition structure. Hope that helps and maybe I'll see you on the track sometime !
Hesitant 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks very much for the reply and advice so far. I will check out Stock Car tonight when I get home after work. Also nice tip for iRacing so will get registering and try it out to see how things go. Helps a lot thank you. Hopefully will see you on the track sometime, but I'll need to practise quite a lot first, I think !
Ricky Davies 326 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 Just clarify Game stock car 2013 works on windows 8 with no problems, it's defiantly a title you want to have in you sim racing collection that's for sure. It's low populated on the online side of things but with the hole public server thing it's best to join a league which run races every 2 weeks or so...although you are not looking for something with times/dates to race, iracing is your best bet, but then that's something that will eat you bank when you see all the nice goodies! Welcome to the forums " CHEERS!

CaTaPulT 658 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 Me reaches over to cover pertinent data from the misususususus, beans? no no no, no gas here except for virtual gas! lol Also, if missus decides to look over your shoulder. It might be a great time to cover her eyes and start playing Peek'a'boo once again! Take care Regards: >>>> Jack <<<<
