G27 setup, or DFP (wheel only) with different pedals/shifter?

3 posts in this topic

Okay, so the pedals on my DFP recently crapped out completely.

I've been looking into getting a G27 for some time now, but im not sure if I should buy that, or keep the DFP wheel and buy some new pedals and a shifter?

Which do you guys think would be better a price-performance ratio? Also, I already have an ActLabs RS Shifter that i've had for some time, it's decent.

I think a pedal upgrade would improve your enjoyment of driving over a g27,  from my memory the jump from my dfgt which is similar to the dfp to my g27 did not seem that big of a jump, it was an improvement but it didn't change anything, it was when I went from my g27 brakes to my cspv'2 that won it for me, having a loadcell brake changed everything and I cant drive without it now, had a turn on my nephews g27 and was all over the place, i'd suggest pedals, then you can upgrade to a wheel later, good luck with what way you go and welcome to the forums

As there are many threads on this already, I'll probably just add to this.

I'm also quite new to PC racing, and got a DFGT around 2 months ago.  But after having used it daily w/ F1 2012/2013 and ACorsa, only then did I actually realize what most say about how 'cheap' the pedals are, so I'm looking at an upgrade.  I really wanted to get a CSR Elite (order in the US) but with the issues some have had/been having, and the difficulty with support, I'm somewhat skeptical in going that path since I'm from Asia and managing issues would be a pain from here.  Because of this I have been looking into the G27 w/c is easily available locally.

If I go with a G27, how much different is it vs the DFGT and CSR Elites?  How far is the travel?  The brake's travel on the DFGT is quite long for me, though I've managed to slightly stiffen the spring.  I understand too that the G27 brakes are somewhat stiffer and slightly shorter than those on the DFGT.  I'd appreciate any other inputs that may help me visualize their differences too.

BTW, thanks @Tucker73 for the help and information through PM.  So from your experience, would you say it's not worth spending the upgrade for the G27 from the DFGT due to a 'small jump'?

Really wish there was an easier way to have the Fanatecs :)
