Welcome to our first look at Forza Motorsport 5. We decided to boot up the cameras and film our first hour of the career while we test out the new Thrustmaster TX Ferrari 458 Italia Racing wheel and pedal set.

See what Shaun Cole and Darin Gangi think of this new generation title for the XBox One as they try it for the first time and try to get things dialed in .

Hopefully you like this new way for us to take a first look at title. We plan to do this more in the future.

That was enjoying to watch :)

Im loving the new AI, they seem to be much more challenging than in previous Forzas.

Also they are using whole circut, driging side by side instead 1 pre derminated line. Some overtakes round the outside.

I wonder how itll develop overtime, when draviatars will use  more information from more players but this is prommising.

How does that wheel compare to Logitechs? Does it work with PC?

Excellent video. Was laughing out loud at a bunch of those segments.

They should have a challenge called: "A taste of your own medicine." Where you have to run a race with 15 avatars of yourself.

That was fun! I saw it was an hour long and thought "no way am I watching all of this". Mainly because I just wanted to see how the game looked as I have no plans of buying the new Xbox at this point and I particularly don't want to buy a new wheel just for it...........

With that said, I watched the entire video!!! It made me smile several times and I enjoyed the "rawness" of it. There are TONS of better ways I could have spent an hour, like practicing iRacing, but that was fun to watch and informative too!

Two thumbs up!!

great video, it was fun to watch you guys goof up like us mortals.  Regarding the game it looked interesting but all a little too samey.

What has always annoyed me about console titles is the short 2/3 lap races, then move onto the next track, then level up and upgrade your car and then repeat.  Can't they think up more innovative ways for career progression?

Thanks !  I'm loving the new AI too and have now got my Drivertar 10% in sync.  Wonder what that means ? My Drivertar is making me money too..lol

I like the wheel better than a Logitech so far. I prefer a belt driven wheel over gear and this thing is very smooth !  Strong FFB too.. Had to turn it down a bit.

Haven't tried on the PC yet, will be getting on that today.

Just tried with the GTE rim and it feels even better !

We were thinking that most wouldn't watch it because of the length. So glad you guys are entertained by it. We plan on a lot more of these now !  We love the rawness of it and first impressions. Really says a lot about the title, wheel, etc.

We'll still be doing our other videos too, but this was a lot of fun !

Awesome video -- thanks for sharing. Just hearing those brief first impressions of the wheel ("wow, this really feels good") went a long way towards making me confident in keeping my (as yet unshipped :|) order.

So I'm sure you'll go into this a bit more in future videos, but I assume you guys were using the T3PA pedals in this video, yeah? Any quick thoughts on the stock pedals, though? Or to phrase it another way, how much is it going to suck for early adopters until the T3PAs are available?  :D

We used the two pedal set in this video. They don't suck at all.. They're decent for sure.  I have tried the T3PA set and they are better for sure ;-)

This was a great video, I watched every minute of it.  I have been on the fence about the Xbox One and Forza 5 and this sealed the deal for me.  I am definitely going to get an Xbox One and download a digital copy of Forza 5 (all digital for me these days).  I am over the fact that my Fanatec CSW will not work with the Xbox One and so it is time to move on.  Having options in our hobby is a good thing.  I may buy the TX wheel as well, it just depends on what you guys say about it and whether it makes sense for me to sell my T500 and replace it with the TX.  I would be interested in you comparing the T500 to the TX so that I can make a better decision.

The video was great. This is probably the best way to showcase any new game release, then follow with a propper review. Truely enjoyable.

On another note, I hope you (Darin and Shaun) go into details about the credit earning versus token purchasing of cars. Maybe even go over to FM.net and have a look arround the forums to see all the commotion.

I cant wait for a review on this wheel setup as i am in the market for a great wheel that will work on both the xbox one and a pc as i may get into i racing at a later date. I hope it compairs to the fanatec wheel system as they are my other choice once they release a wheel for the xbox one(if they do).

Happy thanksgiving!

Great video, really excited about this game :)

I just have one question though, has your TV been measured for input lag?   I ask because it seems there is quite a delay when comparing the position of the Thrustmaster TX vs the on-screen wheel in the cockpit view.    There is a device you can buy for testing input lag, called "Leo Bodnar input lag tester".   It's pretty cheap, under $100.  I would hate for you guys to get a bad impression of console gaming due to a laggy TV :)    Anyway it seems you guys are fairly clued in on this as I found some recent news article by Darin talking about various input lag related topics.   Just wanted to check.

I was wondering the same thing, if the TX is going to compare to the T500 at all in terms of feedback, compatibility and build quality.  Great video, makes me want to get Forza 5.  Always been a GT fan but with the sounds being superior until PD finally brings us something for PS4(which I have now along with my pc rig) I am tempted to step over until then.
