Test Drive Series - Requests Here !

We've started a new series called "Test Drive Tuesday". Our goal is to have one out every Tuesday at 12:00 Noon EST.

 

What is "Test Drive Tuesday" exactly ?  Anything that looks like a lot of fun, mostly current, that you our viewers may want to check out. Whether it's a new track or car, or some hidden gem in an older sim, we want to test drive it on the show. We'd also like to get guest test drivers helping out like Pablo "Go Pro" Lopez or "Empty Box" or one of you in the community!

If your takings suggestions, there are some gold new mods for rfactor (yes people are still making mods for it!) might be worth having a dig around rFactorcentral or drivingitalia.net

GP4 With the for F1 2013 mod

Hi,

I request you to take out the MAK Corp Mazda 787B on the Nordschleife by pleclair in rFactor2.

 

I think think that combo shows the potential of rF2 mods pretty good.

 

The Nordschleife is a conversion of the great com8 Nordschleife for rF1, but with majour rework of the road surface mesh, track side objects and texturing.

The Mazda 787B is a preview for the Classic car mod, that MAK CORP is working on at the moment.

 

If you try that combo please be advised to adjust the car specific FFB Multiplyer down to about 0.2-0.3 because the FFB at 1.0 is almost wheel-killing (so this shows a downside of rF2 as well)

 

Lets see if you can drive that combo as clean as your Monaco race

Come on Mr Gangi Grand Prix 4 ! one of my favourite classics and this is where my Sim racing passion started. It still has a (Small) modding community and there are also non F1 mods such as V8 and some classic stuff.

I'll go one better.

 

get the 1990 Formula 1 mod from rfactorcentral and run it at any of the old F1 circuits. Hockenhiem? Imola? Are you daring enough for a run around the Nordschleife?

I thought that's what you meant. I honestly never got GP4. I had GP2 and didn't have a wheel to run it. Then Online racing began with Nascar 1 and I focused all my energy on that. I think Shaun has a copy. We may need to get it out so I can have a go.

Hi guys.

 

Love the show and the site.

 

I have been playing a lot of Rfactor 2 lately and its one of those sims where you can find the perfect combo of car vs track and when you do...................hours of fun.

 

I live in Australia / Tasmania and we are a little bit isolated down here from a lot of Australia's motor racing events.

 

One event we do have Targa Tasmania which is a tarmac rally which is held at different stages throughout the state on public roads which they close down for the events.

The track and car combo I have been playing reminds me a lot of this event.

 

The track is a tempory road course from 1967 in Longford Tasmania which the Australian Grand Prix was staged there in 1959 and 1965.

 

I find the track very challenging with the long and fast straights that flow into slow technical sections. Its layout includes nine corners, with a railway crossing as well as a bridge and a viaduct.

 

I have been using the Corvette C6.R which is great fun and they really complement each other.  If you really want to push the limits for a balls to the wall ride I suggest

the Howston HG6 as that can be a handful to handle on a track like this but is an absolute blast to race.

 

Would love to see you guys do a Test Drive Tuesday with the track and car combo and let me know what you think.

Still waiting on promised a number of times pcars drives, but things seem to be too busy on the forza front, unfortunately for those who don't own any consoles, that isn't that interesting. Expected one yesterday, though nothing but T150 vid came out.

But I'll chip in anyway and support the request above mine - looks like great combos, even though nothing beats a nords lap
Any chance of this happening next few weeks or shall I forget checking back here every Wednesday ?
