Hi guys,

 

Show me what you are using for Hanbrake/E-brake, DIY or some modified car Handbrake.... button solution or pot analog.... how is connected to the wheel or PC how is instaled on the rig - lets talk for hanbrakes/e-brakes;)

iv made 1 from a xbox controller so it connects via usb and made a box for it, it's really ruff as it's more of a test to see how it works and if it's something i would use (after using it on rbr i couldn't play without it now) i just need to figure out how to put a picture up

Im using it on a pc it was an original xbox controller (not 360) as you can cut the end off it and put a usb connection on it, it works by using 1 of the triggers when the lever is pulled it presses the trigger down(i took the circuit board out of the plastics the triggers are joined on so its not too big) , it was the easiest way i could think of making 1, i have xbox controller drivers on my pc for using my wireless 360 controller and it's usually recognized through that so no real need for joy2key or any of that other programs but there handy for making the trigger a keyboard key or whatever, really simple but effective

trying to figure out a handbrake! like the thread you created lol DefKaffeemann that build is amazing looking, however im using a g27 and cant follow all that fancy stuff for your fanatec pedals!

Is there a way to make a handbrake work on a usb without it being a simple on off switch??

Just buy cheap used flight stick for 5$ and you can use the pot of this stick for an analog  handbrake.I mean pot+PCB +USB cable as package;)You can even use the flight stick as a handbrake without disassembling it - Just Pull and Slide;)

Mine's just a brake pedal from a set of G27's attached to a Bodnar USB adapter with a metal pipe attached to it.  I still need to install something to make it harder to pull on, but it works fine in RBR so far.

CSR elite ped have a E-brake port on the board correct? With the Forza wheel will it recognize the input from there and allow me to use it in Forza 4 and other xbox titles ?

Correct , I will do something like this too , I have CSP and have same extra port too:) For Forza I am sure it works , for other titles  I cant confirm cuz if title don`t support analog E-brake you can`t force it to work:) I can`t find info aout GT5 ,GT6 ...I hope it works there too. Keep us updated what you develope;)

Awesome! E-brake here we come!

Right now I'm assessing what can be done to add it to what I have built as a shifter mount.

If I have to start the arm over n build a whole new shifter/E-brake arm. So be it. It's small enough won't cost much.

So far I've went as far as to make some scribbles on paper and assess the scrap wood I have. Got lots. ✅

Now that I'm reassured it will be worth the effort it time to go get some materials and a cheap flight controller lol.

Then into the lab to dissect and build. Muahahaaa!

bumping this thread, just ordered my adapter to mimic this set up, I figured 45$ is better than 140 for the fanatec one shipped.

My $10 handbrake, just an old Subaru one from a wreaker,  just used the button that indicates on the dash that your brake is on as the switch.

 

Worked OK.

well I successfully made the g27 brake pedal e brake today, I need some finishing touches (wrap and handle) but other than that shes done just waiting on the pedal adapter.
