DFP steers backwards, need help

5 posts in this topic

I am trying to get my dfp to steer correctly, so I need help from someone who knows the inner workings of the electronics. Reversing the motor wires does not work, all I get is a motor that sporatically comes on and off. The motor is a g25 motor and everything works correctly , throttle, brakes, picture, feedback, but the steering is reversed boy if you want a challenge go around the track like that. I am thinking that it might be a signal wire or two from the optical pickup, but I don't know. Is there someone out there that knows electronics? It also might be that I can't use that motor. The electronics of the dfp, the optical pickup was driven by a gear, that would make the dfp turn opposite, this setup has no gear driven code wheel, it is directly on the shaft, so would be opposite of the original. Thanks, I need help.

Your best option is to try and remap the steering axis within the game.

Seeing as you have reversed the direction the optical encoder rotates

its not easy to reverse the logic on the  encoder as the receptor

diodes are biased a certain way and you can't simply swap the channel

outputs around on the plug.

Cheers
