    LFS Progress Report

I know that Live For Speed development had slowed or ceased for quite a while but since the last post here a lot has changed and currently more is being worked on. If you are a VR gamer then LiveForSpeed has undoubtedly the best VR integration and ease of use of any racing simulator and is an amazing experience. The Rockingham Race Track(United Kingdom) has been released as s3 and the Westhill Track has been totally rebuilt along with the Blackwood Race Track. Currently the developers are working on adding 24 hour light cycle(day to night) to the sim along with other additional features I have played Life For Speed for nearly 10 years with over 134983 laps and the VR experience alone has reignited my passion for LFS Check out the videos at https://www.youtube.com/user/lfstech https://youtu.be/n3Ac-KYzwqE https://www.lfs.net/report-apr2019-ky The best thing about liveforspeed is that you can use the free demo which includes 3 cars and blackwood race track and as its for free you have nothing to lose (personal advice is to tweak the graphic settings and look for any updated high resolution textures on the forums for the tracks that have not been upgraded as it makes a huge difference) Bish (co-owner master race car team)

It was primarily used for NASCAR racing but is still adjustable for most games. Comes with usb cable. Drivers are found online. If you are suprised by the high price, do some research and you will find that this is a great deal. Looking to trade for a full pedal setup with a shifter. Asking 200 OBO. Located in central AZ, but will ship to rest of USA. If interest is found, we can deal with cash, eBay or paypal only. You can pay for shipping because idk what class you want it. 7. it is not that hard to embed or link the different VR with racing simulator setup with oculusVR, can anyone help me in this? I bought racing simulator setup from a website (mentioned below). and the VR i got from that machine is not actually very perfect, I need more good quality VR which should have Nvedia graphics card with CPU of i5 or i7 if possible also should have around 8GB of RAM but I doubt all these are available on any of the VR, also I doubt can I link this VR with me machine? https://www.ollantapresidente.pe/product/vr-professional-car-racing-simulator-rig-full-motion-real-force-sale-cockpit/
  8. Hello everyone. My father in-law is a racing enthusiast who goes to a Porsche driving school in Alabama once a year. He has shown interest in setting up a simulator at his home, which means I will have to set up a simulator at his home. He is not very good with electronics in general and while all signs point to iRacing for the most realistic simulator / best online community, I worry he won't be able to handle the complex nature of the game. So my question is... Should I just say "screw it" and start ordering him everything he needs for iRacing, or would getting a PS4 with Assetto Corsa be the right choice for someone like him? It would give us the option of using PS4 VR which seems like a bonus. Anyway, I have searched the forums and just can't make up my mind. I was hoping a few kind souls could help "steer" me in the right direction. Thanks, in advance, for your responses. edit: He would prefer to have a game that contains the Barber Motorsports Park track which he drives every year. -P

  12. Salvador Felip

    Motorbike simulator for home

Hi! I'm Salva Felip, Founder of LeanGP. I have started a project and I need an opinion to see what you think, I am new here and I do not know how this is going. Have a little compassion with me although I know that it's going to rain down on me like bread. The idea came to me from seeing that fans of car simracing had plenty of peripherals to play with (steering wheel, pedals, seats ...) but for those of us who like motorcycles there was nothing. - What you see in the photos is the functional prototype (a cut and coupled tzr), I am finalizing the details of the final product with a design of my own that I will update with photos and videos. - It is compatible with all consoles, games and virtual reality. - It will be foldable to put it at home, to occupy as little as possible, save it and that the relative does not kill us in the attempt. - The material is aluminum to weigh as little as possible, about 25 kg and the fairing of fiber or ABS plastic. - The price depends a lot on the amount to be manufactured but I have estimated costs of € 650. - The controls are the same as with a motorbike, to turn graves, change gears in the left foot. brake combined in handle and foot, gas in the fist ... - The product will go on sale in kickstarter soon. I would appreciate very much if you would give me a hand, since nobody better than fans of motorcycles like me to see if they like it. Thank you very much in advance. https://leangp.com/en/

  14. Hello hello! New to the forums and really new to the whole sim hobby in general. I've done about two months of research hmmm'ing and haaa'ing about my purchases and I think I have come to a final decision and I would love to get your folks opinions. A little background about myself and my driving experience. As mentioned I am new to sim rigs but certainly not new to playing simulators. I have been playing a variety of racing simulators (with a game paddle like a scrub) for a long time. More importantly I have some real world track experience in my personal project car, a 1999 Honda civic making just shy of 400whp with pretty much every chassis, braking and suspension mod one could want for a civic (photos attached). I take it to your standard weekend warrior lapping days, and have my fun with it. The reason I mention this stuff is I'd love for some peoples input on wether my proposed setup will meet the demands of a semi serious, semi casual gamer/racer looking to get serious into iRacing and competitive online sim racing. The following is what I have planned: Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Base v2.5 Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V3 /w Performance Kit Fanatec Sequential v1.5 Shifter Fanatec Hydraulic Ebrake Fanatec XBOX One/PC Universal Hub /w Suede Fanatec Wheel (Already Purchased) FT Omega Ultimate Rig /w screen adapter /w keyboard adapter /w wheel desk plate Total: $3800 CDN approximately My biggest dilemma in my setup was choosing between going with an Accuforce V2 "direct drive" setup or the fanatec system. Does anyone who has extensively used both provide some insight on wether the difference is "worth" (subjectively) the $1000 CDN price difference? My other question is about another potential full setup that I can pick up used. Someone somewhat locally to me is selling a ProSimu T1000 2Motion GS-4 Seat - (Commercial version with stronger components and anodized black) Fanatec Clubsport Wheel base V2 Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Universal Hub Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Rim - GT Fanatec Clubsport Shifter SQ v1.5 Fanatec Clubsport Pedal V2 TrackIR Pro - for head tracking all for a total of $4500 CDN. My second question is would I be better off from experience going with a static rig with all brand new and current components, or take advantage of the extreme discounted price of the ProSimU and rare GS-4 seat that I would otherwise not be able to afford. If you couldn't tell my my car, I am all about buying quality parts, and tend to go "balls deep" into my hobbies skipping many of the introductory market points or entry level products but I do however like to get the absolute best bang for my buck. Too many choices, but it's all very exciting and I am looking forward to peoples input. I think I am running out of YouTube videos out there unfortunately lol. Thanks in advance!
  15. Hi All, Hope you don't mind that I share my interview with the founder and chief engineer of VR Motion Labs, LLC, a Boston based company, maker of pro level motion simulators ($25K+) specialized in VR Racing simulations. They claim that their latest product is able to simulate acceleration, de-acceleration, cornering g-force, road surface and suspension characteristics, and even vehicle traction loss. Here's the interview: http://racinginvr.com/2017/08/18/called-kinesthesia-interview-vr-motion-labs-founder-chief-engineer-r-e-moore-jr/787 I'm not their PR guy and not advertising them, I was just curious about their technology and found it interesting to talk to the founder Mr. Bob Moore, and published it on my site. Maybe you'll find it interesting, too. (I also recommend reading my other interviews with VR racing pilots.) Thanks for your time!

  17. Here is a sneak peak of our YawMan project. We just had a quick conversation and while we do not have an exact date of release for YawMan, we are quite close. As such, here is the Low Down! MSRP for the "YawMan" project will be $2,500 U.S. The First Ten will leave the SimCraft factory for $1,995.00!!!!!!! Who is ready to jump in line? Oversteer/Understeer translated through SimCraft motion technology is coming your way👍 There are thousands of Racers in the Sim community looking for proper, yet cost effective motion solutions. We heard them and can not wait to get this project to market! More Specs! Our base "YawMan" system will come with a 4" stroke actuator capable of 20 degrees total yaw. This equals 10 degrees left and 10 degrees Right. We will also offer an upgraded unit with a 6" stroke actuator for those who simply can not get enough Yaw in their lives! The 6" solution will be capable of 30 degrees total yaw or 15 degrees left and 15 degrees right and will add $200.00 to the price of the system. For reference, our 4" stroke actuator was utilized in the beta YawMan we were testing in the video. Are you ready to experience oversteer/understeer from your existing cockpit? YawMan is one of three new motion peripherals due out from SimCraft this year. This product is a yaw only motion device that will accept any static rig, thereby activating any simracing setup with the most important motion of all for motorsport: yaw. This project has been in development for some time, seen here is a peak at some behind the scenes testing of the 3rd gen (MKIII) prototype.
  18. So I'm sure you all know Dirt Series has started.. I pre-ordred all dirt content the night before, ready for me to get off the next day and start racing.. I got out the camera just to share my reaction and ability to take on the new terrain now available. I started with the Late Model at Volusia with a Test session...... (you can change the track state.. New track is lame. change it to 40% or so) . Ater a few warm up laps I went into a practice session and turned a dozen laps... After that I jump in the Sprint Car at Eldora and jump straight into a Practice session. My favorite was the Sprint Car.. You can just drive the hell out of it.. Fast though the corners. Barely lifting.. At times seeing how long I could just keep it smashed holding on for dear life lol.. I could recommend both. equally as fun and challenging. But sprint car was my personal favorite so far... But that could easily change with more wheel time. Glad I got both.. I still havent been to all 3 tracks yet.. after I post this Ill check out Williams Grove.. Here is a video I took yesterday of my first laps.. Are there any tips out there or setup tweaks I should know about? Wondering if simple tire pressure changes could change alot.. Still need to drove more with the RF brake active or not to see what I prefer there.. Im definitely stoked for the new dirt racing so far.. And once I get nice consistant laps It will just get better.. Time to stop typing and get to racing!!
  19. Having to get rid of this as we need the room in the office and my "Toys" aren't allowed anymore! Perfect for a triple screen setup or even VR as the low position makes you feel like you are in a low single seater. Painted In Alonso's Renault colours custom spray finish with vinyl graphics. Stereo Speakers fitted behind seat for audio These were manufactured in Germany but are no longer available, hence you don't see them come up for sale too often. They were pretty expensive (around £4000) and therefore most of the units imported to the UK were used for corporate events and publicity purposes. The cockpit has wheels on the back with a lifting handle molded into the front of the base, so it's very easy to move around. The section where the wheel is mounted slides back and forth to enable easy entry and exit. Both the seat and the pedal mount are very easily adjusted to allow for arm length and leg length. There are some small holes where the 2 halves of the cockpit were joined together with pop rivets and had to be drilled out so that the cockpit could be transported in the 2 halves. This can be seen in 1 of the photos but it is at the base lip and is quite small and could easily be repaired. The original footplate is included. I have also custom made a simple baseplate for fitting flatter pedal sets. Message me if you have any questions £500 Collection from Bromsgrove, B60 In the UK I may be able to deliver if distance is not too far and Petrol costs are covered
  20. Hey guys, I'm new to the racing game. I am looking for a complete simulator, or some good deals. Doesn't have to be crazy nice just something to start out with that isn't junk. Let me know what you have. Thanks.
  21. Hi everyone, as you know iRacing dirt is coming soon (hopefully). I thought I would get in early and try to make a simulator for it. One thing that I think will not be very realistic is the pedals and wheel of my Logitech Driving Force GT. I have attempted to create a concept for pedals, all help will be really appreciated! Details Below: So the first diagram is an up-close diagram of the pedal system that I would like to try. Pretty much I have a pedal connected to a rod, which then joins to a travel sensor(mentioned below) and then going to a Derek Speare Design or leo Bodnar board. I have a few questions: 1. Will the Travel sensor work? As in will it have a rebound rate or will I have to put a spring on it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Linear-Potentiometer-Position-Travel-Sensor-with-Rod-End-Joints-0-to-2-Range-/231305419801?hash=item35dae09c19:g:byIAAOSw-W5UsDWV&vxp=mtr 2. If the travel sensor does work, will it be compatible with these boards? http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=204 http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/12-bit-controllers.html 3. Finally, is there a better way of doing this so that it feels like pedals in a sprint car, mainly the angle of them? Such as using hall sensors or something? All help is appreciated. Thanks everybody
