  1. Hi, This is Taichi from Taich Sim Racing Wheels! We're selling replica and custom steering wheels for simracing. Our goal is to provide high quality wheels for all simracers at cheaper price than other producers. To accomplish this, we utilise Aluminium plates instead of Crabon fibre plates, which can greatly reduce the cost while keeping the durability, sturdiness and lightness. Please have a look on my website or Instagram to find more cool stuff like these!Instagram: taichisimracing Website: Taichisteering email: [email protected] You want the CAD data for DIY project? 3. Hello and hi from germany! First post here, and what's better to introduce myself than showing my latest creation - a TM F1 Addon wheel with some small modifications mad by myself. My name is Pierre, i am 46 years old from germany. Startet simracing in 1999 with Grand Prix Legends and a gamepad, followed by a Logitech Wingman Formula Force wheel, which a had for years. Did a break from simracing for a few years bacause of the reallife.exe, but was addicted immediately again in 2017 when i had the change to try a friends T300 and Assetto Corsa on PS4. You can imagine the "slap in your face" when the Logitech Formula Force was the last wheel you driven! As i had a better job, my own T300 was delivered a week later, followed by T3PA-PRO pedals and TH8A shifter and a Playseat Alcantara. Then i startet to built the first things by myself, replaced the wheel rim on my T300, built my own buttonbox and a boost controller. Last year i built my own aluminuim rig with a race seat and purchased a Samsung O+ WMR. In the moment an AMG GT3 wheel for ACC is work in progress, the Williams-BMW-F1 wheel is my latest finished project: The project startet with a broken (literally) F1 addon wheel, which i got as a bargain on ebay. I saw the SIMR-F1 before and the mods made with them here on ISRTV, and the idea was born to create a F1 wheel for myself. But not Ferrari style (what everyone did), i wanted to make something that looks like a Williams-BMW-F1 wheel, because i liked the look of the gold carbon fiber and the blue handles. This is the result: The goal was the look of a Williams-BMW wheel with all what is needed for Assetta Corsa and Automobilista. Every knob and button should work on PC, but still PS4 compatible. Including the SIMR-F1 enclosure was the easiest part of the story, finding the correct places for the CTS rotarys and the rotary switches was much harder. For PS4 compatibility the Thrustmaster board had to stay inside, and it was a hard job to include all the wires, switches and rotarys without getting an electrical problem. But it worked pretty well, and averything is working as planed. The carbon look is made by a friend in watertransfer with 2K clearcoat on top. Handles are wrapped in blue alcantara, magnetic shifter mod by 3DRAP.it (great!) with carbon fiber paddles. The coiled USB-cable is removable for PS4 use, but needed for full functionality on PC. Williams-F1 stickers by a simracing friend, and the button stickers a custom made by Paul of simstickers.co.uk. Feautures: - PC and PS4 compatible - 2 rotary switches, - 6 rotary encoder, - 34 push button functions to assign - fully working SIMR-F1 display on PC So, i hope you like it, comments or questions very welcome. As said, i am from germany, so english is'nt my first language and everything is understandable. Best wishes, Pierre.
  4. This is a Drs 13 simulator by DEM racing simulators. I have orderd it in January and I Sent my steering system to them which is a osw system with small mige motor. It will be shipped to me on Monday or Tuesday and should arrive later in the week. They have kept me updated and sent pictures and even video of the pedal plate which moves forward and back with a press of a button to adjust for the different height people because seat is fixed to the aluminium frame. Im very excited to be able to drive it and take it for a spin. Anyone interested if I make a video with the cockpit and show it in detail. If you have any questions you can post them below.
  5. Just picked up a Playseat F1 and am wondering if anyone has modded their V3 pedals to remove the clutch and mount the brake to the side. Playseat sells a big brake pedal to connect the clutch and brake as a single unit but it’s for Logitech pedals, and I’m not sure it would fit the V3s. I did disassemble the V3s and attempt to swap the clutch and brake but the vibration wire for the brake was too short and I didn’t want to do any cutting/soldering of the wire. Thanks!
  6. I just completed my Thrustmaster F1 wheel mod using a SIMR-F1 display. This display is really close to the MacLaren PCU-6D display used in real F1 cars, except for the orange colored lateral displays. The SIMR-F1 is HUGE and barely fits the Thrustmaster F1 wheel, but in the end I'm really satisfied with the result: The wheel now has: * 1 SIMR-F1 display - 15 LED rpm display (5 green, 5 red, 5 blue) - 6 additional LEDs (pitlane, optimal shift point, overheat ...) - left display panel (rpm, water temp, oil temp, current lap, remaining laps, laps before pit ...) - center display dedicated to current gear - right display panel (best laptime, optimal laptime, delta to best, delta to opti ...) * 8 buttons - stock buttons connected to the display (k, n, pit, pump, pl, drs, +10, -1) * 5 up-down encoders - 2 stock encoder connected to the display (dif in, chrg) - 3 additional encoder (mix, grp, trq) * 3 12 position switches - left display panel variable selection (boost) - right display panel variable selection (rev) - Ferrari knob (MF) * 3 3 way switches - 3 stock 2 way switches are replaced (bo, start, wet) * 2 d-pads - both d-pads are connected together * 2 paddle shifters - stock paddle switches connected to the display On the SIMR-F1 the following inputs and outputs are used: - 30 digital inputs (buttons, encoders) out of 32 - 3 12 position switches out of 9 - 0 analog inputs out of 2 - 0 external LEDs out of 7 All the hardware, software, tools and steps involved to complete this mod are commented in the following post: http://www.isrtv.com/forums/topic/12982-thrustmaster-f1-wheel-mod-with-simr-f1-display-switches-and-encoders Here are some short videos with the wheel in action on iRacing: In race conditions:

  11. Hey Guyzzz, I just took some pictures of my Stock Thrustmaster TS-PC Rim...This sale is for the RIM ONLY. Asking $150 shipped within the 48 Cont. US. I have owned this less than one week, and only trading up to a Rally-Style Rim. I am new here, but I have 100% feedback on Ebay as 'recorderboy' , and a member there since 2002.
  12. Fanatec dont do shipping to Singapore for reasons unknown, did use a third party for delivery of my previous wheel and it sort of cost a bomb going through that path. If you have the Fanatec F1 wheel for sale, please let me know, i am keen to purchase. Payment to be made through paypal. Thank you and have a nice week ahead.
  13. For a bit of context: Early 2017 I bought my first wheel (g920) to play FH3 & FM6 on Xbox One, I enjoyed this wheel very much until I started to play nothing else but F1 2017. I sold the Logitech and bought a TM TX Leather edition with the F1 wheel (offcourse). Unfortunately, after 2 months it stopped working and had to send it back to the store (kept my F1 wheel). Since the TX base is known for its fluctuating reliability, and the fact that its design is about 2 years old, I got the TS-XW racer. I have been testing this thing for about 3 weeks, and also decided to return it. (Due to cheap pedals and expensive Sparco wheel which I almost never use) Now, I have a budget of aprox. €650,-. Which will get me a ts-xw, or a entry level Fanetec setup without F1 wheel. Or, again a TX unit and save a lot of money (possibly). Another option is for me to wait what TM is going to release this year. But that might not pay off. What is your advice? Are there any rumours of new TM set's coming? Is Fanetec really worth the investment? Thank you for reading, looking forward to your answers.

  15. Hi Guys on ISR, I wanted to share with you my custom built F1 rig based on the Mercedes AMG Petronas W06 from the 2015 season. I started this project around a year ago (May 2015) from an image I found on google of an F1 style rig made out of wood. After the idea got stuck in my head I decided to start this project with no idea how to start an no experience on building something like this but I started drawing the plans using the 2015 F1 technical regulations for the measurements and dimensions. After I was done with the drawings I made a 3D model to see how it was going to look at the end of the build and I was very exited with the result. In the meantime I was trying to figure out how I was going to build it, what materials to use, where I was going to make it (I live in a small apartment). The rig on the picture that gave me the idea was made out of wood so it was my first choice but I needed to find a woodworking shop to do it. I was lucky to find an organization in St. Louis, where I live, of woodworkers. They have a shop available to members so I joined in order to be able to use it and get some guidance from the more experience members. They recommended other methods for my project including fiber glass, but I had no experience, limited resources and no place to work with fiberglass. I stuck with my first option and started with the actual build cutting wood at the shop (September 2015). Once I had cut all the pieces, I started to put together the puzzle. Because it was made out of wood (mostly plywood) I was concerned with the structure not being strong enough. For this I used Aluminum angle strips and a lot of screws and nuts. Also, I wanted to be able to reach inside the nose of the cockpit so I decided to make the top removable. After the base structure was complete, the sanding began. This was no easy task as it took a lot of time and it made a mess out of my little apartment with carpet floors but that was not going to stop me, I had already started. For the air intake and head protection I used foam covered with all purpose putty. I fitted the pedals in a way they can move back and forwards for adjustment and the wheel is screwed in a plywood base screwed to the inside of the cockpit. I'm using the T300 RS base and pedals with the F1 rim. I finished the building stage around Thanksgiving. In December I went home for the holidays (Ecuador) and left the project on hold until I came back. The next stage was the painting. This took me a while since I only had a couple of hours every night and had to led each layer dry before applying the next one. I was lucky to find a silver paint that was very close to the Silver of the Mercedes F1 cars. I bought some Carbon Fiber stickers to use for the details of the floor and the logos I got them online. After a year since I got the idea of making this, I didn't expect it to end up so good as it did. It took a lot of work but I put so much thought into this that I didn't make many mistakes and I can be sure that it wont break apart. I wanted to feel the immersion of driving a Formula 1 car and now I do. I watched today's live show where the rig of the month was also an F1 style rig, so hopefully mine will make it there too. I hope you guys like it and maybe get some ideas for your next rig project.
  16. I just sold my Thrustmaster Ferrari integral + th8a shifter and i purchased a Fanatec wheel. These rims are what is left of my TM set. 1) Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-On in super perfect condition. There is no difference from buying a brand new one. Packaging - box in super perfect condition with papers etc. 120 euros 2) Ferrari 458 Italia Edition wheel custom painted (Lauda-speciale aperta style). Perfect condition. My customizing topic http://www.isrtv.com/forums/topic/21945-tx-458-wheel-new-looklauda-speciale-aperta-style/ 80 euros 3) Stock T500rs wheel, bought directly from Thrustmaster . Brand new in super perfect condition. 80 euros 4) Stock T300rs wheel, bought directly from Thrustmaster. In super perfect condition. It will be shipped in a Ferrari alcantara box 70 euros I will sell the whole set for 300 euros. I suppose selling to EU is more possible because outside EU the shipping will cost too much. If more than one rims wanted , i can make a better deal.
  17. Hey guys, I have the standard T300rs wheel/pedal set on a GT Omega ART rig. I play GT Sport, F1 2017, and Project Cars for PS4 only. I want to get the Ferrari F1 wheel and the T3PA pedals, but not sure which one to do first. I'm actually okay with the stock pedals since they're all I've ever used. The stock wheel is okay, but it needs more buttons and I am getting the occasional random button press. What do you think? Thanks.

  20. I am selling my ECCI 6000 pedal and steering setup. I have had them for 2 years and purchased them used from the previous owner. They worked great but I upgraded to a FF system. I am selling the complete set for $300 and will charge actual shipping. I assume it will be around $100 but can give an exact number when I know the ship to location. Let me know if you have any questions. The MoMo wheel comes with ECCI 6000 Quick Release as well as paddle shifters. It has two buttons on the front, all working. The connectors are built into the steering unit for quick connect. The F1 Wheel is an aftermarket wheel. The knobs are for show and don't do anything (See Pic). The buttons, switches, display and paddle shifters all work. It comes with a ECCI 6000 Quick Release adapter but is a stand alone unit. It comes with a USB cable and connects directly to the computer. It can be managed with the Fanatec peripheral software controller. You would most likely route the USB cable into the steering unit to work with the quick release if you were using it with the ECCI 6000 steering unit. The steering unit is the Trackstar ECCI 6000 steering unit. The tension can be adjusted but it doesn't have forced feedback. The buttons on the white front cover are not connected to unit (See Pic) The pedals are the Trackstar ECCI 6000 pedals and are top hanging. Unit is boxed and ready to ship. PM me with any questions or if you would like to purchase. I will take payment through paypal. Thanks - Chris

  23. Symulate

    Open Wheel / F1 Platform

Hello all, First a little about myself. I'm a senior aerodynamicist for a leading F1 team and whilst I haven't been actively involved in sim racing per say I am occasionally involved in development work on the simulator at work from time to time! Having spent some time on this recently it got me wondering about mainstream simulation and how high fidelity this was compared to what I am used to on the professional scene. I stumbled across this site and was very surprised to see that whilst there are a huge number of home-brew platforms out there (some of which are excellent), there is little or no support for an F1 style rig. Given that there does appear to be some interest in this style of racing I thought I would spend a few hours and see if I could come up with a set of plans for making an F1 / Open Wheel cockpit. First I drew a generic monocoque based on the current FiA regulations. These regs are freely available on the FiA website so anyone with any CAD surfacing ability could generate this surface if they wished. I'll also make it clear at this point that whilst this will be close in surface to most cars on the current grid it is in no way a like for like copy of my current teams geometry. That would get me in a world of trouble! This generic chassis is the first image below. My intention is to make a slot together frame work that mimics this shape which could either be left as a frame or then be covered in some form of flexible sheeting such a ply or acrylic/perspex etc. I chose some nominal sizes for the frame based on what looked sensible and what is commonly available and decided that this frame would be constructed from 12mm sheet material with the spa's and ribs approximately 40mm deep. The CAD model I've created is parametric so these dimensions can be changed very easily and everything updates. With this decided I then shelled the generic chassis to this 40mm dimension. This is the second picture. A 40mm wall thickness is considerably deeper than what is possible using composite structures so whilst the outer surface is good, the inner surface is now quite a bit smaller than a current car so it might make getting pedals and so on in here tricky. Still the model is very easy to adjust so we can come back to that later. Using the shelled model we can then throw in a series of ribs at sensible locations such as bulkheads, changes in section etc. This is picture three. And then the same for spas. This is picture four. Note that at this point I've switched to a half car model. I figure by building the framework in 2 halves, seats and pedals etc. can be fitted to one half and then the second half bolted to the first to sandwich them in place. This will make it much easier than threading these components in to a one-piece assembly through the cockpit entry. To make the monocoque easy to assemble, the spas and ribs are then half slotted on each side so they slide into each other. The idea would then be these could be screwed / glued together. Pictures five and six show this slotting detail. Picture 7 shows the ribs and spas fully assembled and also mirrored so the final framework can be seen along with a floor piece. The ribs and spas are all simple prismatic shapes with no clever contouring etc, this means they could be made by anyone with hand tools by sticking the plans onto the sheet material and cutting around the outline. Equally they could be CNC'd or laser cut as required if you had the proper .dxf files. The frame at this point could be used as is. Or it could be skinned. The final image shows what a simple skinning would look like. Note: These skins are 3mm thick and the ribs and spas are drawn to accept this thickness of material. You will see that this simple skinning only covers the main surfaces and not the corner detail which would be very difficult to bend sheet material round. To fully cover the frame becomes increasing difficult from a simple plan perspective and outside the remit of what I set myself to do but obviously anyone with the inclination could use foam block etc. to fill in the areas left behind. The level of finishing you could go to could be anything you wished for depending on how important it was to you or what you DIY ability is! This is just a very simple rough-up that tooke no more than a few hours to put together but I would be keen to hear peoples thoughts on this style of construction or whether there is any interest in this style of platform. Kind regards, Sy
