Assetto Corsa – Update 1.10 – Porsche DLC Pack Volume 2 For PC Now Available!

Kunos Simulazioni have released their Porsche DLC  Pack Volume 2 for the PC version of their sim racing title Assetto Corsa and it is available now on Steam! To promote the launch of the second of three DLC packs, Kunos has treated us to a very cool cinematic trailer featuring all the cars that make up Volume 2. The game has also been updated to version 1.10 with numerous fixes, improvements and VR specific features added. Scroll down for the full changelog.

In the same breath, the patiently waiting console players have been given a release date for their first DLC pack! This will take place on November the 29th and will be available for both the Playstation 4 and XBOX One! Volume 2 for console players is expected to be available some time in December.

The second DLC pack has something to make most Porshe fans very happy indeed! It is however a more racing car oriented pack this time around. I especially like the LeMans era cars, starting with the 80s Porsche 962c long and short tail versions, continuing on to the 911 GT1-98 from the 90s, culminating in the 2015 LeMas winning 919 Hybrid. I have driven these cars back to back, giving me an unique insight into the evolution of the Porsche LeMans series endurance racers.

The 962s are quite brutal turbo charged cars with a spartan feel to their handling and cockpits. The 911 GT1-98 is a big step up in refinement and a departure from the H-patterned 962c with its right hand operated sequential shifter. The 915 Hybrid is just a blindingly quick car and has you guessing where the front wheels are most of the time! The line of sight is obscured by the mountain-sized wheel guards on either side of your forward view. Honestly, I cannot imagine how they are able to drive this car in real life, sitting in the motion rig with VR, you can basically only see what is directly in front of you. The other cars in the pack are all extremely well modelled and convincingly impart the Porsche driving experience to a tee. Let us know in the comments what your thoughts are on Volume 2 and which car(s) you enjoy driving the most.
