Assetto Corsa PC Update V1.13 Out Now – New Cars & Beta Vive Support

Well that certainly was “very soon”. After Kunos Simulazioni announced yesterday that three new cars would make their way into Assetto Corsa with the next major update on PC and said update is available now!

When it will release on consoles is still unclear, but a new update for console users bringing private lobbies, a new track and a new car is on its way and will release next month.

Apart from the three promised cars, two of which are free for everybody, there is a lot more to this update of the PC version:

VR support

We knew that Kunos was “evaluating” HTC Vive support for Assetto Corsa and now it is here, at least as a beta. Support is made possible by the openVR SDK, which, for instance, Studio 397 are using for rFactor 2 as well. This allows for native support of Oculus Rift as well as the HTC Vive.

Multiplayer

As a bit of a surprise, a basic driver-swap feature has been implemented into the game. Bear in mind though that it is still very simple and only a possible start to a fully-fledged driver-swapping feature in the future, as clarified by the developers on the official forums.

Multiplayer races can now also have mandatory pitstops and after a race has finished, the following race can be started in reversed grid order too.

Many more features and fixes are also part of Assetto Corsa’s version 1.13. The full changelog can be viewed on the next page.
