Assetto Corsa Partners with RSR Nurburg

Kunos Simulazioni has announced a unique partnership today, with RSR Nurburg. (For those of you who don’t know, RSR Nurburg is a driving academy, with two locations: the legendary Nurburgring and Circuit Spa Francorchamps.) This partnership will work in quite a few ways.

  • Kunos has been granted access to their garage, to gather data for the game. The Toyota GT-86 has also been featured in the press released. To my knowledge, it has not been confirmed in Assetto Corsa. More cars will also be coming to AC with the help of RSR Nurburg.
  • RSR Nurburg’s instructors have extensive knowledge of both the Nurburgring and Spa, both heading to Assetto Corsa in the near future. Reference points will be recreated in-game, to try to provide the most authentic experience possible.
  • Input from the academy will also translate into improvements with the physics and handling model. A professional simulator is placed at RSR Nurburg’s HQ, giving them the best situation possible to providing input and feedback.

In addition to this news, Kunos has released a batch of screenshots, showing the progress on AC’s Nordschleife. The first laser-scanned rendition of the Ring on PC, this circuit is eagerly anticipated. It will no doubt make for a popular venue when it is released later this year.
