Are you a developer looking to add content to Assetto Corsa? Well, you can now look forward to this Friday: Kunos Simulazioni has announced that they will be releasing the developer tools for the Early Access racing title in their next update. In addition to the announcement, Kunos has released a video showcasing KS Editor for AC.
Originally intended for release post Assetto Corsa 1.0 release, a multitude of poor quality conversions motivated Kunos to push out the dev tools, to help provide modders with the means to create high quality content. In the video, Simone Trevisiol (Kunos Lead 3D Artist) takes us through an .FBX file of the Newbury to show off the features of the editor.
If you still haven’t purchased Assetto Corsa, you can still buy it for 20% off the retail price, as part of Steam’s Early Access Program. With modding about to seriously hit the sim, now’s as good a time as any to give it a go.
Are you looking forward to the next Assetto Corsa update and Dev Tools this Friday? What track would you like to see created for AC?
OT: In a fun side topic, Stefano Casillo (head of Kunos Simulazioni) has also been working on a fun side project and I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome! Take a look for yourself:
Stefano started on this side project just five days ago, using his own game engine. He has been developing everything from the ground up, from the model, to physics, and even planning on adding a HUD and maybe even some shooting. If you want to keep up on the side project, you can follow Stefano on his official Twitter profile.
