The wait is over, as part of the SRO Press Conference at this year’s 24-hour of Spa race, Kunos Simulazioni’s Marco Massarutto has revealed the eagerly-awaited release date for Assetto Corsa Competizione – September 12!
That’s on Steam Early Access, right?
Nothing has changed in terms of the rollout, which means that Assetto Corsa Competizione – gameplay of which you can check out here by the way – will be released as a pre-1.0 early access version at first.
However, don’t expect this to be a long-running beta release that will never get finished. Kunos Simulazioni has actually planned out a whole release schedule, running up to the version 1.0 release in Q1, 2019.
You may have noticed that VR support is already mentioned in the second build, which ticks off one of the most requested features for the upcoming Blancpain racer.
What About a Console Release?
We do have some news here! The previous “maybe” has now changed to a real possibility. During the press conference, Massarutto promised that the team will evaluate a console release once the full game has been completed in Q1, 2019. Factors like performance will then determine if a console release will be feasible or not.
AAAAAAND of course, no major announcement is complete without a snazzy new trailer. Check it out above!
