Slightly Mad Studios Releases New Gamescom Trailer

With Project CARS getting the big press, you could be forgiven for forgetting that Slightly Mad Studios is also developing a free-to-play racing title in collaboration with My.com. World of Speed will be a team-based title, where crossing the line first isn’t key, and in their latest Gamescom trailer, you will get a general idea of how the online gameplay will work.

This trailer showcases a race event between Red and Blue teams in a points-based event. It appears that there are certain categories to earn points, and the team which earns the most points at the end wins. I find it interesting how there is a “pathfinder” category, implying that there are multiple paths you can take in races. It isn’t known how many other event types there will be, but more information will come.

In addition to the trailer, you are now able to sign up for the World of Speed beta. You can sign up with your phone number, email, or your Facebook/Twitter account. While this isn’t exactly a sim, it definitely looks like a fun title for fun with friends.
