With less than a month to go until release, Milestone has dropped some more news on upcoming MotoGP 17. Following the recent trend of esports in the industry, mostly in form of competitions, MotoGP 17 will also be part of a competition called The official MotoGP eSport Championship.
How will it work?
It is important to note that the competition will only take place on PlayStation 4, not on Xbox One and not on PC.
To participate, you must register on the official MotoGP eSport Championship website, which is yet to be opened, and you must beat a predetermined time “in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, Moto3™ and Moto2™ categories”.
If you are able to submit the required times, you will gain access to the Online Challenges, a series of seven challenges on seven different circuits with predetermined conditions. Should you manage to be amongst the top players in these challenges, you will be invited to the “grand final”, which will be held during the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana MotoGP race in Spain. The event will be broadcasted live and will offer “unique and valuable prizes”, which are yet to be revealed.
Details on how the challenges and the grand final will exactly work are not yet available and will certainly be announced in the near future.
To make the MotoGP eSport Championship possible, Tissot, Cashback World, Red Bull, Casatarradellas, Movistar, Michelin and BMW M are supporting the cause.
A trailer was also provided. You can view it above and some screenshots below.
